Aliens Police

Kingston, along with most of London, voted Remain. Unlike much of England and Wales, the result being that we are now apparently doomed or destined to leave the EU.
But while the Scots - who voted Remain in every region - are considering independence, why shouldn't London, and for the same reason? London as an entity pre-dates England. And even if Kingston and the other outer Boroughs weren't historically London, we are now.

Of course nothing may come of it, or the UK may do better out of the EU, though my initial shock wouldn't have countenanced such a thing. And of course Older People are being blamed, though many over-50s remember the dark days of exchange controls and residence permits and having to go to the Aliens Police and don't want those back, and so voted Remain. Especially here in London where I think we are (i) far more used to immigration and (ii) not so far from the rest of Europe so it is not an alien concept.

What's interesting is that nobody has much mentioned the other correlation with voting for Brexit - educational levels. Better educated people voted Remain. I suspect we're not hearing that from the right-wing press because they would then be calling their readers ill-educated.

Oh, and stop saying that everyone who voted Brexit is racist. It makes you look like a bellend.
